About
Fiona lives and paints in The East Riding of Yorkshire. When not painting, her greatest pleasure is exploring the moors, fells mountains and coasts in Northern England. The sights, sounds, scents and feel are great stimulation for the senses. Being consumed by their raw beauty inspired her to begin an artistic journey capturing emotional responses to those places.
She came to painting late in life after having worked firstly as a claims inspector for a large insurance company – a far cry from artistic expression, then studying and working in landscape design and conservation. musical instrument making and silver jewellery work.
Self taught, her art is original, unique and utilises various mediums but, likes to paint on board or canvas, mainly using acrylic or oil paints and will include other mediums including collage. It’s a process driven by intuition and a loose approach.
